The direct sequel to the dreadful "Sadako 3D" is still not good, but at least better than its predecessor. Especially with the staging, it seems as if the filmmakers have made an effort this time. While the last film seemed like a quick cash grab, at least some creative energy was put into this one. In a few places, the film even manages to build up a bit of tension. Meanwhile, I also like the fact that the more absurd elements of the previous movie have been scaled back. It's still a "hairy situation", but there are no more spider monsters. The plot involving a girl possibly possessed by Sadako is relatively straightforward, but it's at least easy to follow. If the film hadn't been so boring once again, I definitely would have considered a higher rating.
