I'm a fan of all of the cast in this movie, and THEIR other movies that they're in. BUT, the constant non-stop swearing in every sentence is just overkill, unnecessary, and just ruins most of the lines. I swear a lot myself, but, this was just immature and sounded like a bunch of pre-teens who just learned swear words... It takes away from the script and makes it seem like they couldn't come up with enough dialogue, so they filled it all in with swears... After swearing over and over and over, it starts to get stale, and less funny every time.
THAT'S ONE GREAT TITLE !
One of the worst movies i've ever seen.. It's a shame to throw away such a great animation. It helped me to appreciate even more Disney's & Pixar's productions.
DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE
It is utter sh*t.. 83 minutes from your life that you will never get back
they were high hungry and horny while making this movie. and that is the best thing I can say about this.
A hell of a lot smarter and funnier than I expected.
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's basically a metaphor for how we should all be atheists and can't believe anything without proof; mixed in with every single racist trope ever.
it could be defined as a smart movie, and i respect that, but I didn't enjoy it, it was just too much for me.
I do not understand who their target audience is. Too much swearing to be for children. And to stupid for adults. Maybe it is just me. But this movie, although clever, was boring and stupid. Maybe if I was a stoned juvenile I would have enjoyed it. I commend the makers for being so clever in the plot and some of the comedy. However they should have geared it towards a younger generation. It is too vulgar for children and too stupid for adults.
The Good: Animation is beautiful, the storyline is solid, the characters are great, has substance.
The Bad: A little over the top at times, the montage at the end was a little unnecessary.
My favorite scene: The liquor isle
Overall a fun film, definitely worth a watch.
I knew before seeing this that it wasn't a kids movie. I knew it was raunchy and Seth Rogen, and all that. A raunchy animated film is unfortunately made with the specific intent to be humorous based solely on the fact that these are raunchy...animated...characters... as if we've never seen that before. I think it might have more of an appeal in those regards if this film was released a few years ago - but if they were going for shock in that department, I'm sorry. I didn't care that a hot dog drops the F bomb - no matter how many times they do it. That didn't affect me in the slightest...so in order to shock you more, they do something completely unnecessary near the end that just confused me. I skipped the whole shock experience and immediately found my place at thinking it was pathetic...but then again, sense of humor is relative...and everyone is different.
What this movie did right, at least somewhat, was make this movie a satirical parody. These items represented actual types of individuals, and I'm not entirely sure if its racist or not. Foods that come out of Mexico have Mexican accents, and American foods are American - but it goes really deep into ideas and generic ways of life - furthering the satirical bond it has from the beginning. That being said, satires are also hard to perfect, and if I'm not entertained by their specific sense of humor, then the satire element won't really affect me either. SNL is the same basic idea, it just has humor that I prefer. I just found this movie stupid.
Rotten Tomatoes strangely has this film at a higher rating than I understand, and I think I understand why. It's about the meta and meaningful messages that you can find within the movie if you examine it on an almost educational level. I'm sure if I wrote an essay on it, I could find a lot of connections to the real world that are interesting, but as I sat and watched this, I wasn't entertained. I found it pathetic and stupid.
Level "Unremarkable" • 5  • Entertaining but bad.
Stay tuned for the sequel Revenge of the Beef Curtains
poor poor poor. easy sexual pretend to be humour, didn't make me laugh one time. for me?a waste of time.
Ha! That sure was a party, lots of comedy.. also made me very hungry. Good film... and i'm never going to un see the ending... my eyes are burned...
A Pixar film if they teamed up with the creators of South Park. Sausage Party is stupid in a good way at times but also occasionally just stupid. The ending especially is mostly more stupid than clever.
While Seth Rogen likes weed too much when he even has talking food smoking weed. Having his talking food characters acknowledge that a Seth Rogen does exist was a little egotistical as well.
Rogen had a twisted and original idea for a movie. However, at times it felt like it was written by a Junior High kid who likes to curse and have his food make out and have sex.
A constant stream of laughs for 80- minutes. Maybe not the most well-written plot, but it's about food coming to life and having sex. The occasional bushes with bigger ideas than food sex help to give some variety to the humor, but it's short lived.
Well i probably don't have that much of a sense of humor as i didn't like this one. Profanity and constantly the use of the f word and toilet trash humor tried to hard to be an R-rated movie that backfired all the way.
The film was occasionally amusing and I liked the idea. However, it was quite offensive and stereotypical - the German food were dressed like Nazis, the fruit were gay, the coiled up gum was disabled (made to sound like Stephen Hawking) - which is a pity, as there was some invention here. It ended up being another Seth Rogen stoner comedy (tiresome) and while it did have good intentions toward the end, especially with regard to preaching of tolerance of others (ironic, considering its complete lack of tolerance at times), the film just doesn't work. It also made me crave a hot dog which surely wasn't the point!
I don't really know what to say. I guess you could define it as comedic, like a really bad comedic. That wasn't funny at all.
5 - Meh
13 year old me would've loved this
Was expecting a bit of grownup humor and some smart jokes but this was just simple teenage-level humor and what they must have thought was smart was actually pretty obvious and overdone. Shame.. wasted potential.
Occasionally pretty funny, but some scenes were just a bit too extreme (and juvenile) for my taste.
I expected so much more from this after watching trailer, but they showed almost every good moment in trailer.
Honestly didn't expect much from this movie, the opening song just about killed my enthusiasm so I had to skip the first 3 minutes. Shortly after I was busting a gut laughing. There were more than a handful of scenes that made me laugh hard and for that it was worth watching for sure.
Aside from a few cheap laughs and some corny jokes, the movie was a solid 7. It certainly fulfilled its role as comedy but they could have done much better with this A-list casting.
Stoner rating of 11/10
The movie is funny, although a big chunk of the laughs come more from "OMG THEY WENT THERE" than being truly funny. That being said, it has some good humour and a surprisingly thorough exploration of religion, social constructs and social conventions. The allegories are pretty solid, and they make up for a somewhat uneven plot. It's filled with clichés and outrageous stereotypes that will offend every single person alive, and some things that are just too much (like the Douche rape scene) but overall it's a film worth watching because of how interesting the idea behind it truly is
just watched it high with one of my friend just 1h30 could'nt stop laugthing!!!!
The idea to this movie in itself was actually surprisingly clever.
But it loses itself in too many motives and characters all while not taking itself serious enough to go anywhere with it.
The trailer looked fun, the animation and art style is good, some scenes were smirkingly funny and the motives that come through here and there are not bad but the way everything plays out is simply boring and pointless. Really disappointing.
I really regret paying money to see this movie. It had some good undertones of the current racial/political climate in the USA (which will make this movie not bode well in time), but very lacking and not really funny other than that. What you saw in the trailer was basically the funniest parts, and super misleading.

Cock joke The movie. Trash
What the fuck is this man
im so glad that there's screenwriting work out there for 13 year old boys that have seen south park once
dumb, funny, overly sexual but still pretty entertaining
I can't believe I missed this stoner movie back in 2016. This is awesome and lives up to the genre!
In my opinion, this is right up there with Superbad and Pineapple Express ...
If you like lewd humor / Seth Rogan humor, you absolutely have to see this movie. This is easily the funniest animated movie I have ever seen, and the jokes per minute are the highest of Rogan's career. There is so much care/thought put into every scene, you truly have to see this movie to be able to appreciate it.
Rating: 5/5 (:star:) - 10/10 - Must See
Amazing movie for the night!
I couldn't help but watch it from start to finish..
I am not sure whether I thought it hilarious or horrifying. Or both.
Those scenes at the end... they really went for it!
'Sausage Party' is as dumb a film as you'll find, it's purely nonsensical and extremely crass at times - pretty stereotypical too. Even with that being true, it does have some amusing gags in there; it got a few laughs out of me. It's uneasy, yet somewhat refreshing, to see an animated film be so raunchy. They do take it too far though, especially at the conclusion.
Seth Rogen is the lead as Frank, he is exactly what you'd expect from a Rogen character; drugs et al. There are a number of other well-known names, from James Franco to Salma Hayek to Jonah Hill to Kristen Wiig. I can't say any of them stand out in my memory, admittedly. Animation-wise I found it fine.
I commend them for going the full distance with this, but that probably harms the film in the long run. Adult animated films definitely have an open market and it would be cool to see it rise, but this film takes it too far into the lewd territory for my own liking - I didn't hate it though.
A few laughs but not many
This Is the worst animation film i ever seen.
Honestly, I really didn't wanted to watch this film when I did cause I thought that this would be another stupid film that jokes about pennises and sex and stuff... but nothing of that, after watching it I instantly knew that will be one of my favourites, and it is.
I think it's one of the most mind-breaking films I've ever seen. It's so revealing and makes a parody about the system, religion and so good in my view. Moreover, the idea and making are so original and new, nothing seen before.
I think it's totally underrated and I recommend to watch it at least one time in your life.
I expected something very bad, and it actually ended up having some funny moments. I don't hate it but I don't love it either.
That ending sure was something.
this was not a family movie lol. so funny and weird lol. i was so hungry after this movie but couldn't eat !!
unfunny, boring, not entertaining, pretentious, vulgar. don't waste your time
Most ridiculous, awesome movie, I've ever watched.
this movie is a what in god's sake in point grey is that. # every f**in time. #ShiftvW8
this is actually good! super weird and I like the mix of religious satire and existentialism to the obvious dirty humor.
Only enjoyable if "a dirty mind is a joy forever" is your motto.
FUCK! INNUENDO! BUNS AND HOT DOGS SHOULD FUUUUUCK! THE JOKE IS THAT THE FOOD IS ALIVE AND CUSSES AND WANTS TO FUCK! (It's worth noting I wrote this before I saw the final orgy scene.)
I can do stupid humor. I certainly didn't start watching this movie with expectations, per se. Just...I don't know...dammit...
I miss comedic perspective that doesn't live and breathe lazy stoner.
Just YES. Absolutely loved this. Will watch again.
Man, that was one of the worst movies i saw, "grown up movie", the problem is the grown up as in you won't want your children to see it.
and not in the sophisticated humor kind of way.
low quality animation, bad plot, good voice acting.
humor for teenagers which included a lot of cursing and some visual fruit Sex scenes. .
the funny parts were some ethnic jokes but nothing too memorable.
Disappointment.
The film is from Seth Rogen. So of course it's about food that just wants to curse, smoke weed and have sex. Sausage Party is half stupid in a good way and half just stupid.
This movie is amazing. Not only is it hilarious and 100% worthy of being called an R rated Pixar film. What I did not expect was the whole theology aspect of it. Crazy. Oh and any fans of MacGruber out there (and that should be every last one of you, I mean get with it) there are two hilarious things that Kristen Wiig does and/or is a part of that is verrrrry reminiscent of Vicki St Elmo.
"How to turn your children vegetarians" - Soon™
The trailer is very surreal when watching it for the first time. I can't wait to see this film.
Probably going to be the #1 children's movie of the year!
"They're eating children! F$ing children!" Once I heard that line in the trailer - I lost it! I CAN'T WAIT!

I went into this expecting a stupid movie with hopefully a few laughs. I was blown away by not only how funny the movie was, but how well it deconstructed religion, faith, and reason, and how those all need to work together to make our lives better.
For people who thought this movie was stupid - sorry, but you're stupid. If you couldn't appreciate how well this movie showed the uncaring, awful universe - and why we need to tell ourselves stories that make us enjoy it for as long as possible - then you're just stupid. If you didn't see how this movie talked to atheists, how it presented a convincing argument for faith and religion, alongside the perils of both, then you're the one who missed something. If you couldn't see how this movie demonstrated science, reason, and skepticism, and why those are still not enough, then you're just stupid. It showed, beautifully, the power of mind altering drugs, and how some folks are just going to go ahead and do the worst of them, with no regard as to what others have to say about it. That's a reality that we need to accept, and need to stop pretending that we can make go away just by wishing it so.
Within this cartoon universe, the creators of this movie explore themes in a way that I've not seen done before, demonstrating the power of animated story telling applied to adult themes. Yes, the movie has crass humour, some of which falls flat but some of it is tear inducing funny. But if this movie doesn't make you think, it's because you're stupid.
Go see this movie.
