A very charming badass lead in Polly Shang-Kuan Ling-Feng, and some quite exciting fight scenes, can't save The Shaolin Kids from suffering from an overly convoluted story and way too big of a cast. I had no clue what was going on when there were no fighting going on, and even though it's less than 90 minutes long, it felt way longer. This doesn't mean fans of the genre should skip THe Shaolin Kids, but just be aware that unless there's fighting going on, there's some rather boring political intrigue happening...
