An enjoyable enough road movie that coasts along on the strength of the central trio of actors. It is intriguing to see such early performances from them, although the fact that all three have gone on to perform similar types of characters in other films prevents this from feeling as fresh as it probably did at the time of release. That said, Griffiths and Daniels have a lot of fun with their characters and while there is little here that is surprising, Liotta helps to bring a little bit of tension to the second half.
Two movies in one. Magnificent performances.
I really enjoyed the first two thirds of this movie. I particularly enjoyed the back-and-forth playfulness between the two leads - it was mysterious and fun and it very much felt like we were on the weird trip with them. The movie changed later on with the introduction of new characters and the tone also changed. I didn't hate the event leading up to the ending.... I just wished it had been something different. I wanted to like the whole movie equally.

An off-beat movie that is unlikely to be made in these times. A quirky romantic road trip movie that switches midstride into dark territory. Ray Liotta delivers a powerhouse performance. This won't connect with many but it will leave a memorable impression on those that appreciate it.
