Stir Crazy 1980

It's been awhile... good old classic... both are great on they own and together make a great team and never fail to make me laugh.

I love Richard Pryor, but man this is a snooze-fest!

Entertaining comedy with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.

I hadn't, until now, seen Wilder in anything over than 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory', thankfully he impresses here so I can rate him for something other than that 1971 production. He is funny in 'Stir Crazy', as is co-star Pryor. A good double act.

The plot is actually very silly, to the point that I'd usually dislike it, but somehow this film makes it work very well; obviously thanks to the two lead actors. It has amusing humour and sound dialogue. There is a rather large plot hole at one point, though I'm willing to let it slide due to the aforementioned positives.

This is certainly worth watching!

Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor get wild and crazy in the screwball comedy Stir Crazy. The story follows two New Yorkers that leave the city looking for new opportunities, but end up in the Arizona State Penitentiary framed for a crime that they didn’t commit. Wilder and Pryor are in great form and bring the comedy. However, the plot is rather weak, with some odd tangents that detract from the overall plot. Yet, you’d have to be crazy not to enjoy Stir Crazy; it’s a lot of fun and is full of laughs.
