I watched this movie with 2 buddies who both served aboard the USS Hawkbill(SSN-666) with me so as you can imagine, we found about 52,641 things wrong with it from a technical point of view. Some glaring, some nitpicky. I won't bore you with a list but let's just start with the sub they were on SSN-764 is the USS Boise not the USS Portland. Not sure why you would change the name to protect the innocent? Aside from that, the movie is just crazy dumb. Submarines playing chicken and Stephen Baldwin hotwiring EVERYTHING in sight. I rented this movie for 2 main reasons, the Navy connection and Gabrielle Anwar. I've always been a big fan and she did just fine here, save for her horrendous fake British accent. I love how the description of this movie says it's an All-Star cast and also mentions that Nikki Cox is in it. Right...for a total of about 12 seconds, no exaggeration. As others have mentioned, don't choose this one if you think you are getting a good submarine movie because you are not. As a final note, how does a submarine go 700 feet BELOW it's crush depth? Hmmm....
