I mean, at first you're gonna pretend to forget about her. You'll not call her, I don't know, whatever, but then, eventually, you really will forget about her. See, that's the thing. Somehow they know not to come back until you really forget.

"Swingers" is a dialogue-heavy film in which not much happens other than listening to a group of young men talk. This can work if the characters are likeable, or at least interesting, and the dialog is clever. For me, however, that tends not to apply here. The characters all annoyed me, especially Jon Favreau's Mike, who is insufferable except towards the end. I rarely laughed, and I couldn't really connect with the music either. Only in the last half hour did the film start to come together. But it doesn't get too profound. Overall, "Swingers" is a stylish film that may have worked well in the 1990s but is not required viewing today.
