This is movie maybe two years too late, it would have had a bigger boom if it came out when people were crazy about the App and all the versions.
Honestly it was an entertaining movie, and a great take on what the birds could do to the pigs during the movie. And literally the movie had amazing A-List actors for the characters who I think played it entertainingly.
Like I said it was a little late, but still entertaining for kids.
Watched this on the plane to Disney World when I was bored, never intended to ever watch but was pleasantly surprised. Quite a fun tale. I couldn't figure out how they could link in the game to the film, but it actually worked pretty well.
Watched this one with my kid.
Been a while we laughed so loud :)
All the other video game based movies make it look good at least. There's plenty that should please fans of the Angry Birds games.
thought this movie was pretty good
Hate to admit it but I liked it. or maybe I'm just too depressed that I find anything remotely funny to be funny. Also, that mime reminded me of Janice's Oh My God. Def not a kid's cartoon, and use way too many corny jokes and unnecessary slow mo's..
Great voice cast and much better than I expected. Thought this might have been better coming out say 6 six years ago or something, but it kinda makes me want to play the game again. Funny stuff. It does suffer from the usual subpar kids animation cliches like adult puns, slow mo falling, nut shots and 30 year old pop songs with dances, but still fun.
Really bad and boring, not worth watching.
Terrible movie, unlikable characters, total waste of time
Great, The ickle man loved this so its a hit.
5 words "This movie is just awful"
Son really enjoys Angry Birds, but isn't much of a movie watcher. This actually got him more than the Mario movie. Good voice acting, some jokes that adults will get. Animation looks great. Recommended.
Boring, predictable, and a video game movie. Of course.
I remember playing a very addictive physics based game involving flightless birds on a slingshot darting themselves at pigs. The idea was funny and addictive. I played it a lot. Then like other games, I grew bored of it and stopped playing it.
Rovio, the maker of the game franchise did not stop at that. They kept bringing a lot of games with little tweaks here and there, but never got me interested again. It was out my initial love for that game, I decided to watch this film.
The idea is simple. It is based on how the game plays out. The pigs steal the eggs and the birds get revenge. Making it a scripted animation could not introduce anything new. I was left searching for some common elements from the game. There are plenty of those but nothing that stands out as a unique movie experience.
Superhit songs are reprised, nothing new there either. The overall attempt felt average or rather tad bit below average. Recommended only if you are a die-hard fan of the original game. You can skip it otherwise.
It was of to a decent start when it was just about the birds but quickly fell apart when the pigs arrived.
Based on the popular video game, The Angry Birds Movie is a quirky kid’s film that's mildly entertaining and delivers some fun laughs. The story follows an island of flightless birds who are visited by a group of pigs, but despite their claims of friendship a cynical bird named Red suspects that the pigs are up to no good. Featuring the voice talents of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, and Maya Rudolph, the cast is fairly decent. And, the animation is well-done, with some interesting character designs and bright, crisp colors. Yet the humor is rather tame and tries to get by on standard slapstick gags and stereotypical silly characters. Playing it safe, The Angry Birds Movie doesn’t really try that hard and settles for mediocrity.
What could have been a worthless cash-in on the game turned out to be a surprisingly entertaining movie.
The app was free but you had to give them money anyways...lookin forward to the sequel Angry Turds though
I guess the makers of movie forgot that animation movies are targeted for children. Movie is average at best, but it kind of spreads the message that anger is essential and revenge needs to be taken. My advice would be to spend your money and more importantly your time doing something else or watching other movie.
1/7 sony logo 2/4 audio box, and 4/3 laughter. #ShiftvW8
Terrible and annoying dialog from main character Jason Sudeikis..Lameoooo
I went to see the movie just because of curiosity and wasn't expecting anything from it BUT THEN it turned out to be really good!
Most of us actually are like Red, so negative all the time LOL and I enjoyed how some of the features of his character can be so realistic and relatable to everyone.
When is this coming on xx #ShiftvW8
Went to watch it with allot expections because of the fun trailer I saw... well I couldn't had been anymore disappointed then I was... this movie had it's fun parts and yes I did indeed laugh however the build up could have been done differently with the same scenes to make it more appealing, the story itself started pretty cute with Red and his anger issues, but what it progressed in bored me really much, very sad to say I really disliked this movie.

This movie isn't too bad, but I'll be surprised if it gets a lot of positive remarks from critics. It's got funny moments and great voice talent, but it just didn't grab me as a parent seeing it with my 7 year old. I did play Angry Birds quite a bit back about 5 years ago, even going as far as looking up internet videos as to how to get 3 stars on each level if I couldn't figure it out myself. I liked seeing how they incorporated the birds' in-game attributes into the movie.
The best things about this movie to me: It's only 90 minutes, and it's a movie that you're safe to take your young kids to. We're running out of those kinds of films these days. My 7 year old thought it was "awesome!"
Bottom line: Worth seeing once if you have kids who really want to see it (and 3D was kind of fun), but I'm pretty sure it won't make it into our personal home video collection.
