The story of de Gaulle's assassination attempt.
I heard of this film because it was in the news recently, cited as having been the inspiration for British spies to take on the names of dead children.
I quite liked it. Fantastic attention to detail, and so many characters. Lebel and his assistant are very likeable. He reminds me of Samuel Gerard from The Fugitive.
If the jackal is payed to kill you, man he is definitely going to kill you.
My dad took me to all the great movies as a kid, like this one. I was 10, fascinated by the exploding bullets.

Based on the best-selling novel (and following its plot faithfully), this is a classic. Well cast, well scripted and well directed, the pace and timing never falter. It offers fascinating glimpses into the past; the Citroen DS, for example.
Well worth a watch.
