Bounces from things you might expect from a ghost story to narrative plot points that border on the bizarre. This isn’t a problem as the film is mostly a good one and is worth a watch if you like something that is both familiar and original at the same time.
A weird flick that really seems to struggle with its story, but still manages to be interesting.

Thought I should check this first before seeing Hellbender tomorrow. I find this ghost story super slow but oddly intriguing. It's so quiet, moody and captivating. Even if you've seen a story like this before, it manages to make it feel fresh and the way the film presents reality and hallucinations is very unnerving. Add to that the landscapes that are fantastically captured and a subtle yet effective score that chills you to the bone. The performances are great all around. It's so cool that the film is directed, filmed, written, acted, and scored by one little family and it's quite impressive what they've accomplished with such limited resources. I'm super ready for Hellbender!
