The film plays with big themes, not only those surrounding life after death. It would be remiss of me to talk about the ideas the film portrays as it would ruin the mystery that the characters and the viewer are trying to understand. However, I was underwhelmed by the film. In terms of tone and story the film is all over the place, striving for a higher purpose but never quite reaching it. Full marks for trying though.
The premisse os good, but the movie dragged itself for too long, and Jason Segel is one of the worst actors I have ever seen. Oh, and it was so predictable.
Interesting premise. Solid cast, although at first I didn't see Jason Segal as a leading man, The movie has the feel of an indendent film (in one whole scene you hear the rain falling outside, something that would usually have been looped out of a more expensive production, but, the unntentionally rain actually rooted the film in our world). It was wonderful seeing Robert Redford in a movie (it made me reconsider what I had considered the frustrating physical changes of my own aging body), Rooney Mara was perfectly cast. Good supportive casting. I give this Netflix film a solid 7 (good) out of 10.

The Discovery is a surprisingly delightful Netflix treat. I thought it was thought provoking and the concept kept me interested for most of the run time except for a bit of a lull in the middle. Jason Segel and Rooney Mara are excellent and this is one of those movies that are going to leave you thinking. In a good way.
OMG this was SOOO BORING. My wife and I both fell asleep.
Do yourself a favor and watch the original Flatliners. It's way better than this snooze fest.
Pretty cool subject matter told really well
This is a bit of a slow-burn movie. It's definitely interesting. It plays with some interesting and thought-provoking themes. Even the ending came as a bit of a surprise. I think this is worth a one-time-view.
The first fifteen minutes and the last fifteen minutes were incredible. The hour in the middle, on the other hand, dragged too much for my tastes.

People who do not like to think may find it annoying, but the movie is incredible! It reminded me a lot The OA.
