The Fifth Cord 1971

A gorgeous looking giallo with nicely crafted mystery and suspense. The whole thing feels a lot classier than the usual gialli. I think the cinematography is what really sets this film apart from most gialli, as it looks incredibly stylish but feels so different than what I usually see from these films. The plot is as convoluted as you'd expect with many characters that come and go, but I love how it's less sleazy, relying more on the mystery to keep you engaged rather than shock value. Franco Nero gives a great lead performance.
