The Flu is an epic (in every sense of the word) Korean film about a pandemic... A pandepic?
I absolutely loved the grand scale and ambitions of the film, but the personal stories were so contrived they made me feel a little sick.

Just watched this again and I still don't understand how an American in Seoul can go over the President of Seoul? This is definitely an American movie, that last 30 minutes where America steps on the President of another country an assumes power, wow. They wouldn't make a movie stepping on Russia crazy dude, would they?
People commented here that this movie seems ridiculous - - from 2014's point of you yes, but now after surviving 2019 & 2020, this movie is really whats happening with Covid. Did the virus makers had these movie and Contagion in their heads while making the virus at Wuhan?
It's a shame how the last 30 minutes or so ruined the entire movie. Up until that point the building up has been not that bad (I'd say even a 7) but then the "release" started and nearly all went to hell. Sappiness and machist nationalism worth the worst american movie.
At the end I must be coherent and say that at least is an ok movie to see, even tho the ending parts left me really disappointed.
A lot of reviews for this compare it to Contagion. Outside the subject of a virus, they are very different. This is an action movie that uses a fatal flu as the driver of the film. Contagion is a movie attempting to show what a pandemic virus might be like. This is an epidemic, not a pandemic. This is an exciting film. Contagion is a depressing one. While this is ridiculous, the three leads (including the world's cutest little girl) do a very good job in putting a face to the fear. 7/10
Okay, I like how he tells it, it includes the classic: closing the city, that's exaggerated.
