A funeral singer based in Richmond California reflects on how she got started in her career and how her music provides healing for families who are grieving. Over the years she noticed that she was being asked to sing more frequently at funerals of young African American men who were victims of gun violence. Fed up with the rising number of youth dying from gun violence she decides to starts a grass roots program called “Put the Guns Down.”
