The Ghost falls somewhere between Hammer horror, and classic Universal horror, in terms of the look and feel. There is atmosphere for days, but the movie is unbearably slow - it took me four days to finish watching it. Not even Her Majesty, Barbara Steele, could save this one. The plot is paper thin: Steele conspires to murder her wealthy husband, so she can run off with another man, but then there is revenge of the spooky variety - which, I swear, is the plot of half the movies Steele is in. The movie really looks amazing, and is the type of creepy, artistic horror movie I am always looking for, but I was bored from beginning to end.
