The Good Dinosaur 2015

It may not be a masterpiece, I agree on that, but I really loved this movie. I like when Disney keeps it simple and things like family, friendship, love, fear and courage shine in one simple movie. I was teary in two moments of the movie and hoping that everything turns out good for Arlo and Spot. It was beautiful, simple but really beautiful. It was a good reminder that "courage doesn't exist without fear".

While it may not be a Pixar masterpiece like Inside Out, or Toy Story, The Good Dinosaur delivers visually beautiful animation, dinosaur-sized fun, and a sweet and touching story of friendship.

Great movie, however plenty of scenes reminded me of The Lion King.

I am a 25 year old man who watched this with my 2 daughters. I cried. My daughters did not. Film was enjoyable by all however. Watched it a second time with my Mrs, she cried twice! Made me feel a little better about it all.

that moment when they got high was hilarious as shit

The movie overall was superb. Animation of the movie was amazing. The story was well told for any age to understand and to keep up with. There are sad moments and funny ones as well. I would recommend anyone to watch this even if you don't have children.

This might be the most bland Pixar film to date. Honestly, there isn't much in here that I really hate or anything. It's just that almost nothing is engaging, interesting, funny, or unique at all. They have some of the most photo-realistic background animation I've ever seen. The trees, the grass, and the rivers look like they simply went outside and shot on film. But then the characters are all so bland looking in design. It simply doesn't match at all. Almost none of them are engaging in their personality either (exception being the cowboy T-Rexs).

Not really worth your time or money, but isn't painful to watch either I guess. Just kinda boring.

Papa came to take him to the afterlife but friendship kept him alive. Or something. I liked Spot. The rest is kinda empty and boring. But visually stunning. Apart from the actual characters. Hyper realistic environments with silly cartoon dinosaurs. It felt like "look how good we can make water look" and then they put it everywhere. I don't know why but some parts reminded me of the Lion King. The part where the Pterodactyl looks like a reverse sharkfin through the clouds was cool though.

Phenomenal effects. Story is lame. A few tear jerking moments does not a powerful film make

This was boring and unoriginal. I never really got invested in any of the characters and nothing really that interesting happens. It does look pretty.

Get some A1, be the Good Tasting Dinosaur

One of the worst Pixar movies I've seen! Didn't enjoy it at all, it was so weird, didn't make much sense, and even had a scene that resembled taking drugs!

loading replies

Not one of Pixar's best but dammit... they still made me shed a tear.

I really enjoyed this movie. But it is not really an original one, more like a 2016, dinosaur version of the lion king. An a lot of references to great Disney classics. However, you can watch it without having any doubt about the screenplay and aesthetic quality :)

As engaging as a bowl of plain oatmeal and instantly forgettable.

The animation is stunning to look at, but that is the best that can be said of this hopelessly derivative film. It doesn't help that the story about mismatched friends on a journey of self discovery whilst trying to reach home has been done to death. Also, whilst borrowing elements from Disney's previous films is often an accusation that can be levelled at many others, this takes it to a whole other level, with whole scenes and characters seemingly lifted from far better films, notably The Lion King and even Pixar's own Finding Nemo. Frankly Pixar have set themselves a higher standard and whilst it may not be the shameless cash-in that was Cars 2, it will join that film as one of Pixar's rare misfires.

It's a sweet movie, unfortunately I got a bit disappointed because it reminded me a lot of The Lion King and a bit of Ice Age (not because of the theme). And I might have watched LOTR and Hobbit few times to many but some sequence sounded just like music from The Shire.

Anyway enough complaining. It's a nice family flick with a great message that you don't have to be fearless to be brave.

This film was extremely sad and heart-wrenching like most pixar films are. However, everything that happened were things I've seen before in other Disney movies. It was similar to The Lion King in someways.

Cute movie. But it offered nothing new.

I thought it was pretty good. Started off a little slow but once spot is on the scene it is hilarious. I watched it with no kids and in my 30s and found myself laugh out loud several times. Even had me a little watery eyed at places. I thinks this is definitely worth a re-watch.

This is a good example of what hype can do to people. The movie is very lazy and completely uninspired. I can't even remember when I saw an animated movie this bad. Maybe Inside Out.

The Good Dinosaur in 1 word: Bambisaur :-D

Absolutely loved this movie. I laughed, I teared up and was on the edge of my seat. One of the best movies I’ve seen in a while.

loading replies

Definitely worth watching but I think it would be a bit too distressing for younger children.
It's not a film to watch over and over again..

I guess The Mediocre Dinosaur doesn't have the same ring to it.

I couldn't wait for the movie to end up so I could use my phone to do anything else. Even Twitter.

Wasn't this the movie where they got high or something? i forget.

I hesitated watching this because I didn't hear good things about this movie but I finally gave it a try and I'm glad that I did. It isn't as good as other Pixar movies but it was still worth it.

The only thing i expected was the friendship between the dino and the little human. i was taken by surprise with the high scene, it was funny; and with the boy being a little dog to them, the itelligence of these things that arent human are starting to scare me lol. the movie was not the great but was special in the way that pixar does. i really liked how the family idea was at a important part of the plot and the friendship was giving those conflicts to the characters. and the visual was so beautiful, a painting every 10 seconds. The growth of Arlo evolving naturally was beautiful too.

Animation was gorgeous, the story was okay, heartwarming, but was still okay.

A lesser Pixar effort that's still meaningful and effective, swapping the roles of man and beast in a creative, interesting turn. Its tone is a bit conflicted, though, with a plot that's clearly aimed at younger audiences but several distressing scares and a harsh edge that might make it difficult for children to swallow. Thankfully, it's got a big heart, and an unexpectedly sharp sense of humor that often left me chuckling alongside my two young sons, so those frights were almost always immediately diffused.

I didn't care for the overly-simplistic character designs, which call back to the stop-motion history of dinosaurs on film, but the landscapes are appropriately stunning and the big effects work is top-of-the-line. These guys know how to press their audience's buttons and provoke a visceral reaction, even in the midst a disastrous production with major seismic shifts behind the scenes.

It's a good adventure flick, deep and expansive, with a nice message and a strong character arc; good light entertainment at least. Again, I'd place it among Pixar's weaker films, but in that cellar it keeps fairly good company.

Sad at first, moving in the end, beautiful all the way.

for a kids movie this one's pretty brutal

What a nice and beautifully made film. Even though it's not the best pixar movie, it's still very moving.

loading replies

A visually stunning Lion King knock-off that came off only half as touching. Since both this and Inside Out missed the mark, Pixar probably should stick to one film a year.

It's a heartbreaking movie, beautiful scenes but the story is pretty normal. I knew I heard a known voice (Jeffrey Wright)

Beautiful animation, awful and boring plot.

como puedo ver la pelicula ?

Outstanding graphics and animations, but the plot lacks originality.

If the Good Dinosaur was just from Disney alone and not by Pixar; I am sure it would have been better received. People expect too much from Pixar even after just decent movies like Cars 2 and Monsters University.
The Good Dinosaur is a fine harmless charming and often funny film about friendship though. Even if it's not another five star movie from Pixar.
