Soooo lame. Several poor script choices make this movie predictable, forgettable, and even bad. There is no chemistry between them. The plot is so idiotic. And to think it was based on a book is funny, like, you needed a book to create this? I mean, any literature undergrad could have made this and better, maybe.
I loved it! And although it's HEA I cried for them bc they lost those 5 years of being happy together...
The chemistry between them is :fire: so good!

A sweet heartwarming romance with main actors that share a real amazing chemistry ! For what it's supposed to be, I think it did great. One thing I would say against it is that the whole underlying scenario is cliché, expected (but not enough that it'll stop you fromhaving a good time, imo).
I've heard Anne Hathaway has received criticism for looking too young to play a 40yo, even though she herself is exactly that lol. And good for her. Otherwise I quite enjoy Nicholas Galitzine, but I hope he'll be able to not be typecast in the future, so that he doesn't oversaturate the romance flick market.
As a side note, Galitzine is 30. If they cast a real 24yo actor, would it have been cringier ? Maybe, given that we always see 24yo cast as highschoolers. How about irl though ?
The chemistry was on-point, the vibes were immaculate and the connection felt truly genuine! It was such a lovely romance movie:heart:

Mediocre plot, but I always love Anne and I thought there was enough chemistry between them to make the romance passable.
very underwhelming plot, really can see it started as a fanfic but the 14 year old in me kinda liked it because of that. I really liked the acting and the casting, but there's really not much to the story
ofc Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine are really good actors, so they made it work

I don't know what I was expecting from a fanfic (another one) but the story wasn't developed well. The acting wasn't really good. First half of the movie i was cringing very hard. I had work to do and stop at the middle of the movie and i forgot to watch the other half which is never good. I didn't expect Anne Hathaway in such movie. I think they have more chemistry in the real life than here . I don't know man it's a fanfic...

I know that this may sound odd, but this movie reminded me of a rom com that masqueraded as a drama. Don't get me wrong, this movie is a straight-ahead drama and is not trying to be anything else. Sometimes a movie just grabs you from the opening scenes and doesn't let go, and this movie was that for me. The chemistry between the two leads was ridiculous, and I didn't want it to end. I think what is all the more surprising for me is that I can't recall liking Anne Hathaway in any other movie. When it ended, I wanted to go back and watch it again.

Very far-fetched problems and drama, unfortunately. But the movie showed that the most of people are scum whose opinions are not worth paying attention to.

Overall, it’s a fun time. Is it the best movie I’ve ever seen? No. But it will give you butterflies. My major issue with it is that I wanted to know more about everyone around them. The band and their relationships are barely explored, which was, to me, a miss. I would also like to know more about her ex and his wife. Like, any of the other relationships are cardboard decorations in this movie. It is interesting how self-contained it feels, considering it’s a movie in which the main problem is the public.
First let me say I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS MOVIE. It was fun romantic in a way only movies are and you know it doesn't really happen in real life but you live it with them anyway. My boyfriend didn't watch it with me but I enjoyed the amazing Anne so much and I loved that it sort of breaks the barrier of older woman younger man relationship. people love each other in all sorts of ways OK this was a fairytale one and I just had a lovely time

Actually one of the cutest romcoms I’ve watched in a while. I wasn’t expecting to like it, but some parts really made me get butterflies. It’s like a grown up version of the DCOM Starstruck, which is one of my guilty pleasure movies. Also I’m a fanfiction reader, and this is such a common trope that I was bound to feel things lmao

It's nice but even within the rom-com realm is poor in script and in execution, without the two main actors no one will even look twice at this. Fild with clichés, too long and with no real progression that justifies how quick and close they get. What we should have seen was just packed in a "music clip" .
They try to touch on an important subject, how the media can destroy something, but still wasn´t enough to cover for the rest.
yeah i wont admit it i liked their relationship but that ending .... yeah i know why people were complaining about it. and also its revolting how sexist some parts of this movie were (and sexist within subsequent reviews as well). just a one off example: daniel calling her "my wife" even though they've been divorced

People compare plots to roller coaster rides but I think I’d compare this to a series of Grand Pre qualifiers. It goes from 0 to 200 in 30 seconds, several times, and leaves the track hot, hot, hot. The casting is great and believable. However, I think I got distracted between qualifying runs. It just seemed to lose momentum too many times and stalled when it got to the end. (On a personal note, I enjoyed seeing my favourite talk show featured, THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW.) I give this movie a 7 (short burns) out of 10. [Music, Drama, Romance]

Anne Hathaway is clearly the stronger performer and the one carrying the show. The male lead was getting better, but I still don't think his performance was strong enough.
Had to watch this my wife. Straight forward romance flick for young girls and some not so young ones :sweat_smile:
First, when trying to impress someone with cash, buy them a new refrigerator if theirs is broken!
Second, this movie is very bland and as entertaining as air. Even the title is pointless blah.
Lastly, after their breakup, her being happy to see him proves it takes exactly 5 years to get over mean internet comments.
Anne Hathaway was my only reason to watch this predictable and boring movie about a romantic relationship betwen a milf and a teenager
The beginning is a bit like from Harlequin book, then a bit of celebrity drama, and finally "they live happily ever after"... predictable.
