The Last Kumite 2024

I really like the movie! Big time nostalgia from the '80s and '90s! It was good seeing Cynthia Rothrock and Billy Blanks at their older ages.

The nostalgia goggles are on in full force in this outing. There were moments of fun here and there. The "homages" actually took me out of the film. Once this starts going it seems to sputter out too quickly especially during the fight scenes. This is one of the better kickstarter films I've seen but this bar is set very low.

This is definitely a B karate movie from the 80s. I'd honestly say don't waste your time. If you don't just skip the first hour and watch the last 45 minutes. Somehow this movie has 1 hour of warmup and training to get you to the fights. It's crazy. Even once you get to the fights they're not the greatest.

Just rewatch Bloodsport. You'll be better off and enjoy your afternoon more

I was growing up watching this kind of movies and guys like JCVD were my heroes, I'm a big fan of Martial Arts too. And I see like this movie is trying to be a little bit of everything from those years, but unfortunately it doesn't work like that anymore. This movie is not "so bad it's good", it's just bad. Acting, story, fights - everything is super cheap and cheesy as hell. Makes you cringe all the time. I googled the movie and turned out it was made on a kickstarter project money. It costs like a bag of peanuts and it definitely explains this horrible quality.

Pure nostalgia and fun, a very specific movie, made for fans of martial arts movies from the 80s and 90s, part of the cast and production team made some of them, which makes it evident the passion with which the movie was made. The fight scenes are brilliant and the actors are incredible in their choreography, the story is simple and straightforward, totally driven by nostalgia and the aesthetics are wonderful, it really feels like I'm watching a lost movie from that era, awakening the teenage feeling again.
