The Lie 2018

The greatest film in the world! Sorry, that's a lie. Truth is, it might be the most frustrating film in the world. See it for yourself and you'll know what I mean.

I recommend turning it off about 15 minutes before the end. Up to that point it was pretty good, but the killing of the father made no sense whatsoever and was only there to give the predictable plot twist more shock value.

Fairly good movie with a nice twist at the end.

I don't have kids, so I can't understand how parents could go to such extremes to help and protect their child, but at some point, I would think/hope a moral compass would kick in and say - "Hey, stop and think about what you're doing!!"

If nothing else, this film makes a good point: Don't have kids.

8.5/10

WHITE NONSENSE JUST A BAD MOVIE

Long story short : don’t lie. If you do, try to be clever when covering it.

Almost stopped before the end of the movie because the parents were acting stupid. Almost missed the final plot twist.

I was a bit disappointed by the ending. Many times, writers and/or directors think it is just so innovative to end with a cliffhanger but too many people do it so it is just tedious. I knew something was off when they didn't show the actual fight between the girls.

I saw the twist coming.

Watch it once. Forget it.

After watching the movie, I thought about it. The more I thought about it the less plausible the plot became. That is not a sign of a good movie.

totally missed the plot twist... the movie is annoying bc it really captures teenager recklessness

Oh the tangled web you weave boiled down to a 2 hour long allegory. Uneven and poorly paced, but well acted and fun wrap up. Worth watching but you can never rewatch once you know the end.

Blumhouse. The CW of horror.

The film's decent acting, combined with its shocking conclusion, makes for a satisfying experience. It's a dark and intriguing film that explores themes of guilt, morality, and the lengths that people will go to protect their loved ones.

Awful characters. What kind of a child put her parents go through that?? And what kind of parents tolerate their kid like that??

I loved this movie, Joey King is great. Yes by the end you'll say it's ridiculous, but if you have kid's what would you do for them?

I suspected the main plot "twist" right from the start and I was right. The rest was just tragic.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
