The Moment to Kill 1968

It took a second watching to appreciate this dark and violent movie. At first I thought it was just another gold quest story - but the camera work made it for me. And the humor - though it is not a comedy. One recurring item in the film was the laughing. It started in the opening scene where a bunch of bandits were laughing. Very creepy. Then the scene where Horst Frank's character was being paraded through the street backwards, and all the townspeople were laughing at him - until he turned the tables on them and laughed right back!
