Monsters Crash the Pajama Party is a short, horror-themed comedy. This is basically a live action cartoon, with the type of humor you'd expect from Bugs Bunny or Mel Brooks. The movie is self aware and even breaks the fourth wall. As I was watching this, waiting for it to end, I was thinking, "what the hell is this for? why does this exist?" then I remembered my mom talking about seeing b-horror movies in theater, and how it was more of an interactive, audience-participation experience. It was only then that I really got the context of what this is. From an outside perspective, this is pretty bad, though, understanding how it fit into its world of cinema during that era, I can actually appreciate it for the time capsule it is. If you're going to watch this, just recognize that it is a piece of history. It's not meant to be watched at your home, while you sit on the couch, dumbfounded. This is a piece of a puzzle that our generation doesn't make anymore. So, I can't give it more than a 5, since it's not really a movie, however, it doesn't deserve a lower score simply because the year is no longer 1965.
