To be fair it looks like a lot of money is on screen, there's a ton of physical sets and props (amongst a load of CGi) and the action never lets up. The problem is trying to explain any of the seemingly seven different plotlines that appear to be happening at the same time. Worth a watch but good luck understanding any of it.

The title on Netflix is “Mystery of the dragon seal: Journey to China”

The English dubbing scuppers this bonkers fantasy tale and so too does the muddled script that does the actors no favours.

movie doesnt know what it wants to be pacing is mentall and tone flops about. simply put its very simple and lack direction.

The very big problem with the film is that it can't decide what it wants to be. A quirky comedy? Or a serious, exciting fantasy adventure film?

It tries to be both at the same time. And in my opinion, it really goes down the tubes.

A sequel to Forbidden Kingdom, Iron Mask is a bizarre fantasy-adventure. The story follows a cartographer who’s sent to the Far East to map the reign as he comes across a Chinese witch; meanwhile a deposed Russian Czar escapes from the Tower of London and makes his way to a merchant ship. Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger are featured and provide some fun fight scenes, but on the whole the cast is pretty weak (and the bad voice dubbing exacerbates it). Also, the tone is way too comedic; taking away any tension or stakes that the film has. Still, there are a few exciting action scenes and some of the comedy works. Yet while it has its moments, Iron Mask is a crazy mess that doesn’t work on any level.

If you are comfortable with fantasy films that sometimes don't even make sense but are fun...this is in your wheelhouse. Colorful, exciting, but the story is a little light...sit back, turn of your brain and have a good time.

This is more like a Comedy/Adventure that I somehow enjoyed a bit if you don't take it too seriously it will be fun
