there is something so pretty and sweet and unachievable about the movie. It never, not for a second, stopped being realistic and I value that so much in cinema .
It's honestly one of the best love stories movie ever! I agree with that but i believe it could be even better in some points..7.9/10 is fair i think and it's worth a watch 100% so don't think about not to see this film!

This is a perfect movie. I am not alone in my affection for this movie (although it is ranked 5.3 by the critics at Rotten Tomatoes and Megacritics, the viewers rank it 7.9 in Trakt and IMdB and Rotten Tomatoes viewers give it an 8.5), so there must be a few of us who feel like this. Do you think critics become too battle weary to see things with the wistful hope of improbable optimism? I'd forotten how young Rachel MacAdams and Ryan Gosling were when they made this movie. These two young Canadians won our hearts as they perfectly inhabited their characters. Their young love was filled with enthusiasm and life, yet, James Garner and Gena Rowlands beautifully displayed love, long lived. I love the writing, the performances, the locations and the music, that haunts us, even after the last scene fades. I'm a romantic that still dreams of endings such as this. I give this film a 10 (perfect) out of 10. [Romantic Drama]

Like a warm hug on a rainy day. Undeniably heartfelt, deep and comforting. I had the plot figured out pretty quickly but the magic of the movie lies in Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams and their chemistry. Truly remarkable performance from both of them. The movies is at it's best when both of them are on screen and their characters are really well written and executed. The storytelling was intriguing keeping me invested throughout the whole movie with pure raw emotion.

Ryan Gosling- 8.5/10
To be clear, romance movies are not my cup of tea. This is as schmucky as they come. HOWEVER, Gosling and McAdams made this top tier schmucky/cheesy/cliche and is very understandable why people are drawn to this movie! If you are into these movies, this one is easily a must see. If you are not into these movies, this is one of the decent ones.

I don't know how I didn't watch this movie till now, it's very emotional, romantic and livable story. I shed a lot of tears for their happy and sad moments, it really moved me. Great acting and story building.

I remember watching it the very first time on plane back from a visit to my then girlfriend. I was seated between to elderly ladies. We three were holding each others hands while sobbing.....
I watched this for the second time and was surprised how much I disliked it. The whole old age stuff and scenes totally unnecessary.
Not my usual movie pick (romance) but I still mildly enjoyed this. The first 40 minutes is when I enjoyed it the most. An instant match; Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams have great chemistry together and both give good performances (McAdams being the standout). A lot of romantic vibes, very comforting but also sad and frustrating at times. The costumes are the standout visuals for me, along with the old cars and beautiful house set. I'm not even familiar with the usual clichés in romance movies but I still found this to be entirely predictable from beginning to end which is a shame. A bit bummed by how heartless they were with their respective relationships, needed a few more scenes with them or just a better conclusion. It still got me a little emotional in two moments; a scene with a painting in the second half and the ending is truly beautiful.
For me this is literally life-changing. I can't express how much I love it. The plot is pretty predictable but the performance is terrific. the chemisty????? omg. For me, one of the best romantic dramas ever. Will watch it again in a few years 100%.
I had the tissues ready and somehow I didn't shed a tear. It's a great romantic movie with brilliant performances especially by Ryan Gosling and Rachel Adams who have beautiful chemistry.

Despite evidently not watching this until today, I've always heard about the sad tag that many associate with 'The Notebook' - and I can see why. Given I didn't know anything other than that, I was not anticipating how the film portrays its story - which is effective and rather heartbreaking. I'm not one to get properly emotional to movies, though hit the feels this one does still certainly do.
The film features impressive performances from Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, as well as James Garner and Gena Rowlands. In smaller roles, Joan Allen and James Marsden are relatively solid too. If I had to nitpick, which it would very much be, I would've shortened the run time ever so slightly; could've been wrapped up quicker, but no biggie.
One of the best movies I have ever seen. The story takes its time, develops slowly and stretches into a whole lifetime. The characters are lovable and feel real. I cannot watch it too often.
Don’t get the hype tbh
A good romance movie with an interesting plot to keep people engaged. However, I can't help but realize that the relationship portrayed in this movie is not the healthiest, so it's up to the viewer on whether they'll enjoy watching this.

Well nothing too fancy, shes in love then she goes away for studies finds another man then wants him back. The transitions between past and future were not original but it was somewhat decently done.

A bit underwhelming if I may say due to missed opportunities do make it more dramatic. In some scenes I believe the thing they wanted to reveal was really plain and with no passion.

Really generic characters with nothing to add to the story really. But it's to be expected since this is a love story after all. But I believe they could be written in a better way

Like it overall and believe its worth watching. I saw a video of a mom forgetting her son every day and that's why it hit me pretty hard at the end. Could be better but it has its own charming.
A grade 10 movie that looks like in 2020 you don't see such a good movie anymore.

Who hasn't seen his movies if you are a Nicholas Sparks fan then it's a definitely but if you are a movie lover still a must
