went in with no expectations besides "i love garrett hedlund," wasn't disappointed. acted well but definitely formulaic.
The first half was decent and then the writing fell off a cliff. It felt like the movie was trying to gaslight me. Hedlund was solid, but my goodness that creative decision to shave in that faux-receding hairline? Distracting throughout. There's a big plot point just after halfway that completely changes the tone and then there's just absurd plot hole after plot hole and some of the dialogue made me want to bang my head into a wall. E.g. "I was in a lake!"
