I'm kinda surprised that the rating is so low for this one.
I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a comedy or...? Either way it's hilarious.
I'm not a fan of the Twilight films. But New Moon takes a break from the vampire and werewolves cliches and tells a realistic story of depression that is portrayed in a way that feels very familiar. The editing, soundtrack, score, and cinematography is also great.
I thought vampires were meant to be interesting?!
Holy Shit, this movie deserves at least one bonus star for every mention of "face punch". Plus I just really like Bella - I know she's supposed to be depressed in this but she barely seemed different from her normal absolutely-chill-with-whatever mood ("Jacob who?" - "Jacob's kinda a werewolf."). I wish I was that effortlessly cool. And despite the fact that I really like Sookie Stackhouse, if we accept the fact that this is fundamentally a romance story, Bella seems like a much more reasonable person, especially for her "okay, I guess this is my life now" attitude and the fact one of her first thoughts is "dude should probably turn me as soon as possible." And is it just me or does this movie actually benefit from the fact that Edward is barely in it? It seems to me Steward has much better chemistry with Lautner than Patterson.
The depression montage never fails to make me cry. This film was exactly what my depressed teenaged self needed at the time.
Probably the my least favorite of the series as although the characters and plot development and scenery are all still spectacular, the plot of this one is a bit strange for me as I felt the original author could have gone a different direction. The sudden departure of Edward and then him re-entering the picture as the main character at the end was a bit unnecessary in some ways. However, the introduction of somme new characters really sets up well for an exciting last 3 films.
Same vain as the original movie. It's not great and not really one I planned to rewatch. A small step back from the first as it loses the luster of the origin story / introduction to the world.
Rating: 2/5 - 65% - Not Recommended to Everyone
i just saw abs in this one
6.5/10 - This is basically Twilight's spin of Romeo and Juliet.
It's kinda interesting but I don't really like it. When watching it for the second time I thought I'd hate the choice and conflict between Edward and Jacob (IIRC that bugged me when I watched it for the first time) but I don't mind that at all. I don't feel bad for Jacob as he isn't without flaws either and didn't really get treated that unfairly.
It mainly sucks that Edward "complains" about Romeo being stupid and then attempts the same... (should've double checked and could've attended the funeral first anyway).
Anyway, my biggest complaint with this second movie is that it's too depressing. That seems to be the point of it so they probably did their job well but I don't like dark and depressing stories.
The beginning is fine, then it gets quite depressing, and finally it gets nice again when Alice comes visiting (my favorite part as it really sucks that all of the Cullen's left with no way for Bella to contact any of them - it's so relieving when Alice finally returns!).
The end is good. A few nice scenes with Alice, we get to meet the Volturi (scary but Aro is kinda cool), and finally (the best part of this movie) the Cullen's family votes to turn Bella into a Vampire :)
depression and Taylor Lautner’s abs. fantastic comedy.
Unfortunately New Moon sets The Twilight Saga back a step, as it fails to realize Meyer’s vision. Following an accident at Bella’s birthday party the Cullens leave Fords, sending Bella into a deep depression; meanwhile strange thing are happening on the Quileute reservation. This chapter opens up the series and develops a full, rich fantasy world, but the execution is rather poor. Director Chris Weitz doesn’t seem to have a full handle on the material. And while the emotional/melodramatic themes are captured well, the action/suspense themes are rushed (though the fight scenes themselves are exciting and dynamic). The CGI effects for the werewolves are also problematic, lacking photorealism; which becomes a bit distracting given how significant werewolves are to the story. Still, New Moon moves the series forward and sets the stage for an epic saga.
What was the point of this movie? Nothing really happened except they brought in another love interest who happens to be a werewolf.
This 1 was my least fav of the series. I don't like how Bella was completely depressed and ready to end/wreck her life.
One word : emptiness. This movie is the worst of the saga, it's so boring, so slow and nothing happens. Bella does nothing except brooding over her lost love, Edward makes stupid choices and Jacob who was a nice dude in the first movie is slowly getting on my nerves. The only interesting thing is the part with the Volturi but we barely see them.
the squad is on that ALICEBELLA SHIT
Ughhhhhhhhhhh ppphhhffrrrrttt!!!!! There..write a sequel to that
Vampire / werewolf chick flick!
ok,not a great saga. but this movie is a fucking masterpiece.

This movie has beautiful scenery. It takes all the really dumb, emo bits from Romeo & Juliet and makes a two hour teen movie about poor life decisions about them. I will concede that this film is a winner for all fans of shirtless dudes with rippling abs though.
