[Locarno FF '23] This story of desertion from the army of a young Israeli who doesn't understand what war he has been involved in, begins as a romantic comedy but becomes darker as the protagonist's inability to escape his destiny becomes increasingly ever more evident. The script easily mixes genres, drawing inspiration from North American comedies of the 1980s, but at the same time offers an outstanding look at an unstructured society, marked by violence that young generations do not understand. And despite a certain superficiality, it manages to reflect a state of constant frustration.
