The Vault 2021

It is ok. Action scenes are predictable, not so exciting and everything is bright as sky but it was nice seeing some familiar faces...

"It’s simple."

Heist movie? Count me in. Happens during the World Cup? Yes. Hearing Freddie Highmore speak with his British accent? Gimme. The movie itself: I guess it is alright. They could’ve explained a few things a little better, but I love seeing bad people get ripped off. Also... Famke Janssen... what happened?

It was a good movie but Famke’s face and fake accent are distracting

A by-the-numbers heist movie with an interesting location/backdrop and dubious science make for a fun (albeit hollow) popcorn flick.

Not ground breaking in anyway and no significant surprises. Good fun problem solving and variable characters. Enjoyable entertainment as a Sunday afternoon watch but unlikely to warrant a repeat viewing.

A fun watch. Good chill entertainment.

It was a great rainy Bank Holiday film. Story plot had a few holes in it, but it didn’t really matter.

Generic heist fare with Freddie Highmore the film’s sole saving grace. My advice? Throw it in a vault and hide away the key!

I you like Mission Impossible, this is much better Fantastic.

i liked the film, but i have two questions:

  1. why is the title "way down" instead of "vault" in some countries (including mine)? how is that a better title and what does it even mean?

  2. how do the bank people turn off the system with the scale and the water, when they need to go into to vault themselves? why was doing that same thing before going in never discussed as an option? or did i miss it?

Whoever made that poster should be sued by Adobe.
Nice heist movie, yes a lot of things are not explainable or you must turn off logic to accept them but overall it was entertaining and fun to watch

Slightly predictable, but suspenseful. Plus for the unconventional cover for the action. :)

A mediocre replica of La casa de papel

Not good. There are many other movies in this genre but this was low on the quality scale. Fully predictable and very limited on surprises or logic, even if the "answer to the problem" was meant to be difficult.

Meh! Okay movie. Nothing to write home about.

Like a decent panini, this is only good because they they don't make it bad.

Heist films are such a simple recipe, yet they are so often underdone and contain too many additives (romance, emotional drama, exposition... ). The Vault brings absolutely nothing new to the table, but what it serves is at least appetizing and what it says on the menu.

Pros: I got addicted to looking at Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey.
Cons: I wanted to slap the smug off of Freddie Highmore's face so hard...

Fully predictable from start to finish. If you've watched pretty much every movie about breaking into the impossible bank vault, then you've seen this. There are no real twists or surprises, because... you've seen them all before.

They're breaking into the most sophisticated and never been broken into before bank... but it's fully staffed and everyone is on high alert - all the time... and they same people work 24/7.

Yawn... 4.5/10

More of a theft film than a heist film by my highly specific and personal measure. Freddie Highmore is generally annoying but he's no more annoying than his character here which is nice. It has all the failures and callbacks you want. It also has a doublecross that you don't expect and yet is somehow pointless and feels obligatory.

I thoroughly enjoyed that flick. A good heist movie is rare, and this one has all the right ingredients to make it fun... A bit predictable at times, but i t also manages to keep you on your toes. A good way to spend a couple of hours harmlessly entertained.

Putting weight on the scale was a nice thought.

Wouldn't work though, in order to get 1m³ of air in the room (or to keep it in) you'd need to put 1 metric ton of mass or its equivalent in weight onto the scale.
It's actually a simple calculation everyone who has graduated highschool should be able to make, since 1l of water weighs 1kg, 1l is 1dm³
and 1000dm³ are 1m³.
Well, at least if you grew up in a country using the metric system in which it is far easier to calculate things...

Given the dimensions of the room you'd need at least a few m³ in order to have air to breathe. The bottles are heavy - they are not that heavy.

The movie itself is still fun though.

Switch off some logical thinking and It's a fun, enjoyable heist movie for a light evening.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was a smart, fun heist movie. The movie was presented in a way that made it look like it may have been based on a true story - it was not.

Although - I think Freddie Highmore may have been playing "The Good Doctor" too long - at times the character here felt a lot like Shaun Murphy.

If you liked either or both "The Italian Job" and "Ocean's 11" then you will most certainly enjoy this movie.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

It was alright, nothing new, some average acting and a simple plot. I mostly watched it because of Freddie Highmore, not seen him in a film for awhile because of being a big hit in tv series roles at the moment and he did okay but I guess he's more a hit as a child actor but still a good actor especially when it comes to the series Bates Hotel or The Good Doctor.
