Enjoyed this loads. made me laugh lots! pretty predictable but enjoyable. Great cast.
It could not be more predictable, but it works as it is. It is precisely fair.
It feels like it's been a hot minute since Hollywood released a romcom. I just saw it yesterday in the theater with my sister and we loved it. Lots of fun and laughing out loud!
The most stock romcom I've seen for a long time, but that's ok. I needed a good palate cleanser after the horrors I've been consuming recently and this was a nice, light hearted distraction from that. Clooney and Roberts have still got that awesome on-screen chemistry that's hard not to smile at, even when the story is taking the most predictable of turns. Some solid filler, throwaway media, not much more to say.
What even … this is one of the worst movies I have seen in a while. Did not even manage to finish it. Horrible script, bad performances … so disappointed and I was so looking forward to Julia and George …
I enjoyed this and it made me laugh a lot. George Clooney and Julia Roberts made this movie...their chemistry together onscreen is great as in previous films. I honestly didn't want it to end when it did. Fun stuff!
Predictable and flat. That's all there is to it really, at least the scenery was attractive, best part, the end credits.
The plot is quite obvious, so there is nothing to judge. Bloopers after the movie are more interesting. ;) And of course the scenery make up for it.
This movie is terrible. Roberts and Clooney just phoned this one in, the acting is so-so, the plot is normal trope for romcom's and it just falls flat. The only reason it earned any money is having two blockbuster stars leading it, otherwise either nobody would have noticed or they would have gotten two actors that make this movie work better and it would have been the top movie.
I watched it wondering if it's a romantic comedy, who is supposed to fall in love?
Unfortunately, I turned it off before I found out.
The love couldn't have been between Julia Roberts and George Clooney since they spent all the time they were on screen together being totally annoying to each other and made me turn the movie off...
They say this is Pretty Woman: 25y later but it’s actually a prequel to Emily in Paris
Fun but more predictable than Elemental
So lets think about this for a minute. George Clooney apparently agreed to make another buddy movie, this time with Julia Roberts. So before one word is put to paper you already know that you have two of the best actors and biggest starts of the last thirty years. So you add in a part where they got divorced long ago and hate each other but they have to suck it up for their daughter. Even if the writers did nothing else you should have the framework of a decent movie. And ultimately, that's all that this movie is. For all intents and purposes the director rolled the balls out and let Clooney and Roberts be Clooney and Roberts. If you take them out of this movie you'd got a Saturday afternoon Lifetime movie. Because of Clooney and Roberts the movie is just "fine". The credits are the best part of the movie - that should tell you something.
At what point does Clooney go looking for decent material? For very Michael Clayton or Descendants we get movies like this or Ocean's 13. Couldn't he mix in some decenter material now and then? I am a huge fan of his but most of his movies leave a lot to be desired.

I wish I had seen some interesting gags based on coffee, instead than a predictable and stale comedy full of stereotypes.
It's exactly what it says it is. Don't expect to be surprised and you'll be fine. Judging by the sounds in the cinema, the other (older) people found this a lot funnier that I did. Still, it made me chuckle one or two times. Which is more than most romantic comedies achieve.
Fun to watch. Beautiful locations! Quite relaxing movie to go through on a Sunday afternoon.
Saw the movie with my mom and auntie at the cinema last week. And dragged my boyfriend also, even if he's not a big fan.
Yes, it's predictable as shit, but we did enjoy it. It's a romantic comedy, they're mostly the same, but sometimes we need to relax and enjoy a little bit ourselves.
We have a lot of drama in our day to day life, there are horrors way beyond the horrors you see on movies happening today.
Let's enjoy the movie which I give a 10/10 for being able to make all of us laugh and disconnect from our otherwise busy life.
Saw this on a awful 3rd date so I'll try not to let that affect the review
A fairly standard and predicable rom com that left me thinking these people are making terrible decisions tbh. Poor girl is burned out from completing her law degree. Ofc she's gonna fall for the hot sea weed farmer. Holiday good times are just that - for holidays! Get back to the real world, girl! You're gonna be bored in 6 months
If it's a ticket to paradise, how did I wind up in hell?
I'm not a fan of rom-coms and this epitomizes everything I don't like about them... The lack of any actual humor, the dearth of originality, the predictable story...
George Clooney comes out of this looking good and Kaitlyn Dever is her incredibly talented and charming self but the rest of this film is like a trip to the proctologist's: a pain in the ass that one must endure rather than enjoy.
Honestly, this was super cute. It’s a romcom so don’t expect something life changing but it was well done
If you're looking for a feel-good movie that transports you to a tropical paradise while delivering laughs and heartfelt moments, Ticket to Paradise (2022) is your perfect getaway. Directed by Ol Parker, this romantic comedy brings together two Hollywood heavyweights—Julia Roberts and George Clooney—in a charming tale of love, second chances, and family.
A sweet and romantic film. With Julia Roberts and George Clooney, you usually know what you’re going to get. So, the collaboration and communication between them are expected and good.
However, it’s not a film that will make you raise your eyebrows. It’s quite predictable, but then again, romantic comedies are quite formulaic. It’s an okay film, I’d rate it 6/10. A fitting film for a rainy and boring October day.
So unoriginal and so basic, i do not think that Roberts and Clooney matched well. Clooney was more in to the role and more funny.
This is a very predictable rom-com of the many. The only joy is Kaitlyn Dever which i adore, and she is great at everything she is doing with many good roles in her short career (best decision she ever made, left the crap political sitcom of Tim Allen) and a path for a major career.
Predictable and thoroughly enjoyable as every cheesy rom-com should be!
What's up with George, he has so few lines and why didn't he explain and apologize for his actions. There were a few things that should have been worked out more. The chemistry was good between George and Julia.
If you like Julia Robert and George Clooney you’re probably gonna enjoy this, they’re chemistry is great and the rest OK
Good Sunday lazy afternoon film
I can't believe I've managed to keep up with watching a movie every day, haha. I'm hoping this trend continues because I'm really eager to catch up on all the movies that are out there. So, for today's movie, I checked out "Ticket to Paradise," starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney. Let me tell you, I'm totally into this modern, adorable, funny, and heart-wrenching chick flick vibe.
Now, it's not the type of rom-com I'd be up for watching repeatedly, but as someone who's got a bit of those daddy issues, it hit me right in the feels. Oh, and can we talk about how stunning the setting is? It got me thinking about my clients and boss who are living it up in Bali. That's why throughout the film, work was definitely on my mind. LMAO.
Overall, this is a cute chick flick. It might not be vying for an Oscar, but it's absolutely worth a watch, especially with your gal pals or maybe even your partner.
OMG, that was a waste of time. I only watched it because my girlfriend threatened me to leave the house and take the dog with her. She is a huge fan of George Clooney you see. My girlfriend I mean, not my dog.
Urgh, this was a slog and a half - saved only by Clooney and Roberts charisma. Dever is terrible in this, whether it's her character or her acting, as she sucks the life out of nearly ever scene. Lourd is completely wasted and a hinted at attempt at her to get with Clooney's character is gone after Act 1 (but maybe I read too much into the scene).
Another cute rom com. A few too many boiler suits in Julia Roberts’ wardrobe, but otherwise, I thought it was great. The scenery and colorful Balinese clothing and decor was a treat.
It's a romantic comedy with two really good leads. Just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. If you think about it too long you will ruin it.
It was pretty bland and predictable but I had a good time watching it. Julia and George obviously ad libbing some of the scenes to try and make each other laugh was probably the best part.
Fun movie - just relax and watch…
"Being loved is not the same as loving."
I can't think of this as a rom-com because it's not swoony, but it's a cute hate-to-love, second chance romance!
Boring, Orientalist nonsense. Privileged white girl goes to a beautiful country and decides she "belongs" there because she doesn't want to do what mommy and daddy want her to do. Finds a POC lover who validates everything she wants to believe about herself. Easily immigrates to the country, never acknowledging what a privilege it is to be able to just decide your going to stay somewhere. No mention of Bali's/Indonesia's strict Muslim government, where extramarital sex just became illegal, even for tourists. Because there's pretty waterfalls! And a cute boy!
This movie does nothing but perpetuate the idea that us white Americans can just go wherever we want, do whatever we want, and everyone should stroke our egos while we stomp around having quarter- or mid-life crises all over their country.
Also, the Clooney-Roberts storyline was so weak it could've been entirely scripted on a napkin.
I'm D Y I N G for the romcom to make its triumphant return but certainly we can do better than this.
This was fine. Decent way to spend a couple hours ina Sunday. George and Julia have great chemistry; Kaitlyn Dever is wonderful in everything she does. Bali is a beautiful country. Fine, in every way.
I thought the movie was okay, but one thing I can't get over is how the parents were completely right about their daughters relationship.
Yes, it is a stupid idea to marry a guy you've met four weeks ago while on vacation! The whole movie there were so many points where I thought she'd say "you know what mom and dad? You're right. I love him, but let's wait a bit before getting married". And that never happened, the movie just played it completely straight like she was in the right.
In general, I loved the interations between Clooney and Roberts. Their chemistry is pretty damn good.
One last thing, it was pretty lazy writing to say she was going to be a lawyer after graduating with just a 4 year undergraduate degree.
Dull, kept alive by Julia Roberts’ smile and George Clooney’s charm.
Its fun to watch on Sunday
When you thought romcom movies were dead and buried, they suddenly came out of the grave.
Ticket to Paradise is a predictable and corny movie that is saved by charm and enjoyment.
One of the most memorable cinema experiences I've had in a while. Not because of the movie itself but because five minutes into the film, some kids activated the fire alarm (little shits), and we had to leave the screen through the fire exit and go outside. Of course, it was a false alarm, and we managed to see the rest of the movie.
If you look up the plot summary or watch the trailer, you know what's going to happen next, and you won't be surprised.
The return of rom-com movies isn't a bad thing in my eyes. They are harmless and inoffensive fluff that will appeal to someone's fantasy; falling in love with an attractive man or woman and finding freedom after being stuck in a crappy job.
Critics and audiences have scoffed at the genre to the point it disappeared. The genre has been criticised in other movies, TV shows, critical essays, and video essays that you can find on YouTube. But now, I feel audiences want more escapism and accept it as its genre.
George Clooney and Julie Roberts are old-school superstars who made the movie watchable. In the film, they play a divorced couple, and since Clooney and Roberts are friends in real life, you don't fully believe they hate each other. They like friends pretending to loathe each other. Although, I must say there is one scene where Clooney delivers a monologue to another character explaining why the marriage didn't work, and it's all done in one take, with the shot focusing on him. I was surprised by how good the scene was.
Overall rating: It's a movie that won't surprise you but will keep you entertained.
an anti-capitalist masterpiece. five stars.
Really predictable yet quite enjoyable. Won't get you bored if you're into this genre.

Clooney and Roberts have fantastic chemistry. Kaitlyn Dever is lovely as always.
Loved the outtakes in the credits - haven't seen that in a while.
