I thought it was like a made for TV movie after school special ...until there was nudity.
The streaming copy I watched on TV was very low quality; obviously from videotape.
Casey's creation, "Osgood" is basically Google (or Siri, or Alexa) which was interesting and perhaps remarkable for a film from the early 80's.
The pacing was wonky, where some key plot points took ages to develop and others seem to happen quite quickly.
Marcia's dialogue seems like it was written by a middle schooler and delivered as such.
Still, the premise is fascinating. I wonder if this concept was ever remade or rebooted or refashioned in some way. Probably so.
I've struggled if this should be a six or a five. Timothy bottoms heartfelt performance is the highlight of the movie so a five just doesn't seem right. Yet the pacing, the dialogue and some of the other performances drag it down.
