I'm watching this at the present moment and all I can tell you is (1) the matches are blessedly short and (2) the audio is atrocious. Once the fights actually begin, the audio to the ringside analysts' microphones gets completely butchered and you can't hear anything other than the crowd noise. There is some audible conversation in the background (where you can tell it's the analysts doing commentary on the current match) but it's completely inaudible. Also, after the matches, the ringside interviews with the fighters cannot be heard…again because the audio was absolutely horrible. What a joke. The card itself was absolutely terrible, with the final two matches being a mixture of laughable and pathetic. I have to say I've enjoyed watching "where it all began" but I much prefer the way the UFC is organized and presented TODAY than back in the day when it was promoted as being "as brutal as it gets...no holds barred, no time limits, and no rules." There were, of course, the barest of rules but they were there. But watching these...I can't even bring myself to refer to them as "fighters" because they aren't... watching these UFC entrants do nothing but hold on to a chainlink fence for 15-30 minutes in the hopes of just earning a draw, and not actually FIGHTING, this was pathetic and extremely un-entertaining. Again, speaking only of THIS card, the audio was incredibly bad so if you DO decide to watch this (available on ESPN+ with a paid subscription), just be advised that you'll be better served - once the actual fighting starts - to turn your sound off completely and watch the fights. The several matches that wound up "going to the judges" were made even more ridiculous by the judges holding up placards that looked like something made in a kindergarten class: paper plates glued to popsicle sticks where the judges hand-lettered the names of the fighter they "judged" to have "won" the match. All in all, this was a complete waste of 2 hours of my evening...although I did manage to get a short nap when I fell asleep through the final match (and woke myself up snoring).
