A middling education drama shouldered entirely by Dhanush.
Dhanush's Vaathi has a very honest, relatable premise which a huge section of masses will appreciate and acknowledge but its criminal to defend the poor direction and how formulaic is the entire screenplay. Literally every scene in the film suffers from exxagerated melodrama which could have been toned down to provide a more organic and realistic drama. Though Dhanush is likeable in his character, the lack of depth in all other characterizations is a bit agonizing. Overall, a passable Dhanush film which had a huge potential to be remembered.
Idk about that other review but it's your typical amazing dhanush film. Thankful for him always touching our hearts with these messages and strong scripts .
