Director and potential main actress go through a fictional stage adaptation of “Venus in Furs” in almost its entirety. We’re stuck in the same theatre hall with two characters for the whole time, and even get to hear their comments and conversation in between scenes, as their roles keep interchanging and overlapping as the play goes on. It might sound like the most boring movie on Earth, yet it was a clever and fun meta-comedy. The ending felt a little wasted, but other than that, I found the film surprisingly gripping and entertaining throughout.
