What Jennifer Did 2024

with a title like that, there no reason to drag the "twist". could have been shorter.

This felt so basic, I've seen a breakdowns of this case on youtube that were way more in indepth.

What Jennifer did was not enough for me.

This true crime documentary feels incomplete because they don't spend enough time at the end discussing the other people involved in this story, and it feels a little light, as we've seen this kind of story before. I didn't see what makes this so noteworthy that it needs to be a Netflix special and not an episode of Forensic Files.

• the doc is too long for the amount of story there is — the doc could have been trimmed of a lot of fat, and then continued the subject with the future developments that occurred.
• the doc is boring because it has been dragged out.
• there is use of AI generated images (two of the red dress, prom/dance photos) without disclosing this fact. Pretty scummy from a documentary, especially since it wasn’t necessary.

It's a pity that the title of the document spoils the whole mystery. It's literally like reading a crime story and knowing who the murderer is... boring.

“What Jennifer Did” is a Netflix documentary that examines the case of Jennifer Pan, who was convicted for plotting her parents’ murder. The film is notable for its raw interrogation footage and exploration of the pressures of parental expectations. However, it has been critiqued for certain omissions and pacing issues. Overall, it’s a thought-provoking piece on the consequences of extreme familial pressure.

I mean based on the title alone, all the lead up didn't need to drag for 3/4 of the movie.

not much to it - so thin they had to use ai images as filler
this could have been a 48 hours episode instead

I agree with the sentiment that this could've and should've been way shorter than it is. Nonetheless, I thought it was well done.

It's an interesting documentary but technical wise, it's just okay.
