This prepackaged story of a man helping an undocumented Afghani woman cross from Italy into France (like in last year's Les Engagés / In a Better World) lacks tension (the antagonists breeze in and out like snow flakes) and credibility (a lame man and a school teacher cross the Alps in the middle of winter in a day and a half with no equipment, no snow shoes, no water and only one pair of gloves).
Thank God Denis Ménochet's (As bestas) performance gives this white out a little definition.
