So good to tick another Bergman off the list. Existential dread and guilt turning into sweet closure. Great stuff. 7.7/10

Wild Strawberries is a beautiful film about being old, full of symbolisms and immense depth. Considering the era that it was made, the 50's, the way the story is told was an innovating idea for a film.
Most of all this is a film about redemption, about accepting and regretting wrong behaviours and decisions in life. It also questions what is there beyond death.

Fantastic performance by Victor Sjortrom.

Although I think this film is a very well made piece of cinema, I thought that I would be more impressed with it than I was. That's why I can't give it a higher rate. Probably in a rewatch, someday, I can apreciate it even more.

One word to describe this movie: Sublime

The way it’s told is interesting and makes this kind of worth it. With the dreams and the flashbacks. That’s all okay. Almost reminds me of Christmas Carol in a way.

Most of the other characters are annoying as fuck, though. It distracted the hell out of me and made me thankful that this was not that long.

Waste of time, and people are like machines

The most uneventful road trip of the history cinema, along with an old man's bittersweet memories and life reflections. Like Proust's infamous madeleine, Isak Borg's strawberries trigger a series of idyllic flashbacks and disturbing nightmares that make him realize how little he knows about the world, how he was after all the leading cause of his own pain and loneliness. It's an incredibly poetic and melancholic film, but I have to confess that I expected it to get much deeper into the characters' psyche.
