This is not just premiere 24, but premiere broadcast television. With the B plot finally connecting to the A plot (far too late, but still a welcome move), everything is clicking, and the stakes feel heightened with every passing minute. We've never seen Jack Bauer quite like this.
The show maintains solid production and quality writing. Adding new characters each seasons keeps it fresh, and having the beautiful Annie Wersching this time is sure plus. She was born to be on TV.

How did Tanner know about the plot to kidnap the former Prime Minister? The evil team made a point of saying how they didn't know what the job was until right then when Jack and Tony were told. So why would Tanner know beforehand? Smells convenient!
