With how Renee acted at the beginning of season 7, I refuse to believe she was some undercover badass prior to then. Absolutely no way. This is a bad retcon. The music that was playing when Renee landed in the chopper was ridiculous. This show has really had some bad music choices in the past couple of seasons.
