Well, that was sad but nicely done. I'm happy the couple managed to have their life together, and I think it's beautiful as well to have lived open doors as to how Sofia managed to create her own path.
All in all a more complete narrative than I expected prior to start watching, certainly not a masterpiece but a story well told that grasped a life in many facets. Well spent or not, up to us to judge

Wow, just wow. I didn't see this coming (I didnt read the book), and I found it bittersweet, but sweet nonetheless.

My Wife, who read the book, has pointed out some things to me, things she didn't think were as good as they were in the book, such as

how they really made it clear that he started working in the restaurant to have a purpose, but I picked up on that since they kept showing how much time passes, etc.. we agree that it is probably because she enjoyed the some of the details behind it and they weren't included

and

how in the book only Alexander and Anna knew about the plan for Sofia, including Sofia not knowing; but we both agreed that it works better for TV this way
