The comedy continues. In this episode the young doctor amputates a girl's leg using a blunt --- why is it blunt?! --- saw. The show shows us the amputation in progress, gore and all.
He is lectured that he can't cut bits off infants when he suggests surgery for a young patient. And he tries to grow a beard that looks ridiculous in one so young. The hospital staff begins to trust him.
The older self is under investigation for prescribing morphine to dead people (probably to cover up for his own addition to morphine).
