Well I absolutely loved that! I liked the Stormbreaker film, but this was so much better. There are a lot of changes from the book, but they work and in some ways improve on it - especially getting to see more of the relationship between Alex and his uncle Ian Rider. This is basically Alex Rider for the Stranger Things/His Dark Materials age.
So far, the first episode continued to peak my interest.
Episode 1 drops us right into the world of Alex Rider, namely the scene from the intro of Point Blanc. First impressions. Visuals are fantastic. It’s practically a screenplay taken straight out of the book minus the scream . I feel Horowitz was watching this one carefully after the Stormbreaker movie. There’s some obvious modern twists and embellishments, but I feel as enthralled as I was as a kid reading the books for the first time. Heck, I’m re-reading them now!
