This Episode shows how Exceptionally well written Judge Benner is.
I actually forgot that she is homosexual. Which is how it should be - not because its something shameful, but because it doesn't matter unless it is about relationships.
And this is more aproximate to the real world scenario.
I worked with a lesbian for years without knowing it - it simply never came up until she told me something about her girlfriend (I don't even remember what it was).
I don't get why writers think a characters sexuality is something the viewer needs to learn about within the first 5 minutes and then reminded of in every episode although the character is single and not even trying to date.
Details should only be revealed or reminded of when they are important for the story like it is the case here.
This way we can get to know the character without being pushed into some concious or unconcious bias (simply couldn't resist this one :) ).
And yes! I do like the Character of Judge Benner - much more than Lola's actually.

no bc i'm so glad they discussed how easily eyewitness identifications can be mistaken and manipulated yet still be so impactful in the legal system, and even added cross racial identification in there. with much of the cast being poc, it's so important.
