That Ekko vs Jinx scene is quite something.
This show is really well done, but I hate how many intrigues there are. Makes for an excellent story but I just keep seeing every good intention turn into dust.
The ending rapping of this episode is pure art, last time I saw diamond like this was Love Death Robots S01E03 The Witness
If they keep doing this to me I ain't gonna recover. Another masterfully crafted episode, you can tell Echo (Ekko?) still wants Powder to return, deep down. Powder herself is also clearly suffering from PTSD or something, seems like she still feels super guilty for the deaths of Milo and Clang.
Really hoping things pan out the way I hope.
that fight between ekko and jinx was incredible. the whole situation reminds ekko of the times they used to play as kids. Jinx then stops and this wide smile spreads across her face. She remembers the same thing. SHIT
Interesting that we don't have the time jump between arcs here like we did between the first two, but I like how this still has its own jumps as we finally pick up again on Ekko and his involvement with the Firelights. The whole upper vs lower societies is brewing to a full war, with Jayce stuck in the middle. I don't trust Mel. I can't wait to see where they're going with Viktor. The bond between Vi and Caitlyn continues to be strong, as is the madness of Powder's growing jealousy. Silco's meeting with the ganglords is fantastic, even beyond their wild designs. The whole climactic battle on the bridge, especially with the... I don't know if it's a fantasy or an actual time leap given the clock device, where Powder and Ekko's battle is intercut with the memories of them playing as childhood friends. It's just an absolutely breathtaking piece of storytelling and animation. I love this show so much.
Again a lot happens in the episode, most of it rather violent. I really liked the enclave Ekko created for his people, with the treehouse resembling the tellain in Tolkien's Lothlorien, though I guess all this would be short-lived now that he was probably killed by Jinx. I wonder whether she would turn out to be the Gollum of the story? I think there is some good left in her but as much as it was the case with Gollum, so the attempts to save her would most likely come to nothing.
LOL I didn't expect to see Echo at all! So cool :)
"Gee, I wonder who I learned that from?" xD And Vi even hugged him. Such a sweet reunion <3
And that place he built looked so amazing/beautiful! And that huge drawing full of the people they lost was stunning.
And I became concerned about Viktor again... :o Not his health but about him becoming a bad person. But I was so wrong: He is a really good person! He has heart, passion, and cares about people. And I love how he still just casually goes to the undercity. He didn't forget and he isn't just glad that he could escape it and never has to return.
At least Jayce has regrets about betraying his mentor. Mel's "Try not to lose your nuts." was fun :D
I'm a bit concerned about Heimerdinger. I wonder what his undercover mission is.
Silco's power move was great. He is one of a kind!
Caitlin and Vi are so sweet together <3
And those firelights looked awesome. Until it was revealed that they're bombs from Jinx. She's crazy but smart. At least she did get that it's just a goodbye hug. Speaking of that: The hug between Vi and Caitlin was so sweet, again <3
And last but not least: Echo was quite the hero at the end! His hoverboard is so cool and his time abilities just made it epic. And how he saw Powder and still cares about her <3
Such an emotional episode. I never thought I'd rate such an episode 10/10 but I feel like this one does deserve it.
This episode was absurd, those fight sequences were next level
Another good episode of Arcane. Looks like Echo is back, and he's the leader of this group of people in this vibrant little base, full of ppl who avoided the drug Sillco has infested the underground streets with after Vander died. Luckily echo was the one who captured Caitlyn and Violet, and it was niice seeing the reunion between Echo and Vi, I'm glad Vi has another person in her life from before the failed rescue attempt. Also, looks like Caitlyn's got a plan to end the violence once and for all, and thanks to Echo getting the magical orb, Caitlyn can now return the orb to Jayce and get Jayce to expose whats going on. However things may not go so well given that, thanks to Madera's sweet talking, Jayce is now considering using Hextech to make weapons of war to prepare for a fight against the underground streets, using Hextech for its complete opposite goal of helping humans in need. Poor Jayce, all he orignally wanted was to be a scientist alongside Viktor and bring change to Pultovir by making magic tech that can hellp ppl, but now he's gotta juggle dealing with the attacks on Pultivor, his friend Viktor dying, and now potientially using Hextech to make weapons. Also, looks like Jinx has been almost completety convinced by Silco that Violet doesnt care about her anymore, but its still clear that deep down Jinx misses her lost friends and Violet, given how she still hallucinates her dead friends and gets hyper emotional over Violet. Also, man that confrontation between Vi, Echo and Caitlyn between the enforcers on the bridge was intense, it looks like Marcus couldnt fight back against Silco after all and remained loyal to Silco to the end, though luckily for Vi and her gang Jinx blew up the enforcers, and we also got to see a great fight sequence between Echo and Jinx as echo gave vi and caitlyn the orb and told them to run away. I loved how in the fight between the two it showed scenes of Echo and Powder playing together as children just before the fight commenced, sort of showing what has been lost betwene the two and how much they've changed from their past selves. And of course the fight ended with Echo hesitating, even tho Echo has been adament abotu Powder being gone for good (I mean there's literally of mural w/n his hideout of everyone the underground has lost to Silco/Enforcers and Powder is on there), he couldnt carry out the final blow, still seeing Powder in Jinx, and instead Jinx dropped an explosive, which seemingly killed her. Also, looks like Viktor decided to take things into his own hands after meeting with his olld master, with him taking a variant of the shimmer so that he can absorb the power of the magical orb to heal himself, I hope things turn out fine but it's doubtful that it will. Also, like usual, Silco is one terrifying man, with that meeting he had with the other leaders in Zaun, Silco showed why he should be feared by others. Also, looks like Silco, even after seemingly convincing Jinx to stay loyal to him, may not achieve his vision after all, given how Jinx mightve just died today.
Vi: "I missed you, little man."
Ekko: "I got one more thing to show you."
Silco: "Good meeting."
Cait: "That won't solve things."
Ekko: "Easy for you to say. Your people aren't dying all around you."
Cait: "Ekko, it's wrong what's been done to you. You'd be well within your rights to keep it. I couldn't blame you. But... if you do, this cycle of violence will never stop. This is our best shot at setting the record straight. This city needs healing. More than I ever realised. Please, let me help you."
The best episode yet, the last scene was something else.
oh wow kilmonger is in this!

Boy, am I glad to know that Ekko, the little man, is the boy savior, and not Jayce Talis, who interestingly shaves his underarm.
Honestly, the whole Jinx-being-jealous-of-Caitlyn-for-replacing-her felt quite contrived, and Vi-believing-Powder-is-still-in-there-somewhere-inside-Jinx trite because idk. Maybe I am biased against Powder/Jinx, but aside from some flirting and teasing, I never really got the sense that Caitlyn and Vi had that of a strong or intimate relationship. Ekko hesitating to deal the final blow on Jinx because he still saw Powder in her in spite of his insistence that she's gone felt so well done especially compared to Vi and Jinx's interactions which feel like awkward reunions at best. I really loved the mural, and Ekko and Jinx's fight scene !!!
I like the strain being introduced to Viktor and Jayce's relationship as the latter's priorities slowly shift. It is funny how councilor Mel seems so steadfast and consistent now given how untrustworthy I found her earlier. Also losing my respect for Silco as a villain like why is he putting so much trust in this girl who's waaay too volatile and unstable,,,
