Season 1

My first encounter with the chainsaw-wielding Ash Williams was on the "Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness" short film and he rocked! I have never watched any of the "Evil Dead" movies, but I think this series served as a good launching point to binge on them until the second season rolls around. ♥

Starts off strong and buoyed by Campbell’s charisma, but the act gets old fast with the humor having diminishing returns and undermining dramatic moments, rushed character relationships (there’s no reason Pablo and Kelly should be so attached to Ash after him opening the book got family members of theirs killed and I don’t buy them being this important to Ash yet), the CGI gets worse with time, and besides him and Lawless the other actors strive for B movie energy but fall into lifeless and awkward delivery more often than not, especially Kelly’s actress. Hope the next season delivers something to really latch onto.

for comedy.

and ignored that

Bruce Campbell is
Outstanding as ever
and I could watch him
go to work all day

This show ticks all
the boxes for me,
IT'S LIKE A GOOD SHOT
TO THE FACE IT ALWAYS
GETS MY JUICES FLOWING.

I'm a fan of how this season served as both a continuation from the movies and something that can stand on its own. I did find that the humor sometimes undermined what could have been more serious dramatic moments, and some of the characters weren't written very well. But it's not supposed to impress you with its balanced tone or well-written characters. It's just supposed to be a very cheesy and bloody good time back with this iconic character, and it accomplishes that. I had a lot of fun with season 1.

is the best horror tv shows and also the most underrated.
