Attack on Titan

Season 3

I thought the first third or so of this season was kinda weak in comparison to the first two seasons. But after that, things really pick up and it becomes what is probably the best of this show so far.

I love that we finally got some answers and made it to the Jaeger basement. It really feels like the whole scope and direction of the story is going to change drastically from where we started and I appreciate that.

S3P2 has got to be one of my favourite action sequences, period. I was completely engrossed and my heart was thumping the entire time. The strategies, the emotions, the storylines and the action all meld together to create a one-of-a-kind experience.

The complete apotheosis of the blend of genres that conform the series.

Transition from the coup from the first part that translates a lot of the conspirative thriller vibe and the neo western that was hinting in the first two season and showing itself to be a ticking bomb into the apocalyptic war-like kaiju melodramatic nightmare that is the second part. It’s incredible how it never loses it sense of momentum when it comes to reveal slowly a history and civilization that were denied the light of day, but mostly the tragedy that’s to even dream of a tomorrow where your illusions are shattered by continuing living and fighting for a cause that it reveals itself to be as flawed and dehumanizing in the search for leaving these walls.

Highligh: episode 18. Be involving the characters and the audience is the toughest choice the show has ever done until that point. Certainly, the hardest i was in trying not to cry. Beautiful stuff all around here.

Despite the imminent risk of seeing the same formula of the first two seasons growing stale, “Attack on Titan: Season 3” actually represents an unexpected leap in quality in terms of pacing and storytelling. The first part of this season initially forgets the titan threat to focus on humans and the political subterfuge of the Capital. A lot of mysteries find clear answers, even though we had so many clues that nothing came as unexpected. The second part has the most epic battle so far and we even offers a particular moment that could have irremediably divided our heros and raise some controversy (unfortunately, the writers chose the easy way out).
