Away: Season 1

1x10 Home

I thought this series raised a number of issues that any future missions to Mars will need to take into consideration. 1. Should the crew members be in a relationship or be parents? 2. Should there be an crew member age limit on missions? 3. How will the crew mentally handle being so far from earth? . Even on the ISS the crew can look down at earth. Hopefully there will another season to see what other human issues will be explored

It has been good as it ends, but if there is a season 2 that the daughter and her environment disappear in a black hole to never return

I thought this was very average. I wouldn't renew it either. The show ground to a standstill any time on earth for me. Wouldn't recommend

Amazing season finale of this very good first season of „Away“. The acting was great throughout the season and the story, although slow at times, did not disappoint. The descent sequence near the end of the episode was brilliant and especially the soundtrack brought a lot to this scene. Let‘s hope there‘s another season because I would love to know how the story goes on.

It asks for a lot of suspension of disbelief. IRL, the space mission would get cancelled if the crew members behaved in those ways.

I did binge the whole season in 1 day. Decent timepass.

Brilliant conclusion to a solid story about connection, hope, love, fear, perseverance... about the common threads that run through us all, the true meaning of humanity.
I also absolutely love the connotation behind this, the title of the finale, the notion of going AWAY to come home again... because home is truly where the heart is.

Not gonna lie: This final episode got me emotionally a few times (it was still a bit slow but it was ok). Interestingly the suspense also worked on me for a second time when the families where waiting at mission control for a touchdown confirmation from Atlas (even got my eyes a bit wet again) - I guess this is just due to empathy and maybe that I like projecting myself into fictional characters in movies/shows.

What a wonderful end to a wonderful series. It's a shame that Netflix decided not to renew this, but I think this works beautifully as a series finale.

The only things I remember from the series:
-Misha, Lu and Kwesi are always arguing
-Ram has no family and loves Commander Green and they did a pretty space walk with snowflakes flying...

-Melissa loves Commander Green's husband..No news there...
-Alexis did something dangerous to escape her problems and in the end everyone forgot about it..
-Governments are fighting amongst themselves to see who is the first to walk on Mars (a sexist touch asking Lu to have her visor closed)
-The best moments were the final when they are descending into mars atmosphere, as they said, practically inside a giant ball of fire.. We feel as if we were there with them.
-Emma confirms touchdown. It is an emotional moment. The photo is great.
The rest is bullshit.
