A neat little prelude to what the full-fledged show would be. The use of music is there. The use of lighting and unique framings is there. And the modernized 40s-ish look is there. What’s interesting is the smaller details, like how the animation seems more fluid than what we’d eventually get in the full series, how one of the thugs somewhat resembles Bullock, and how it feels like they reheat this sequence to some degree in the opening episode of the series. Still, it’s cool to see this proto version of the show we’d come to know and love.
