7.5/10. There was a lot of good comedy here, as the show took the ape-focused premise fairly straight while still having fun with it. The Batman of this show has a real Leslie Neilson in Airplane quality to him -- playing something ridiculous deadpan and thereby making it funny. The highlight was Grodd's "I've had this belt for years! You just never saw me wear it!"

B'Wana Beast and Vixen's story had its moments, and I liked the self-awareness of B'Wana lamenting his place on the D-list, but it was pretty standard stuff. Overall, the episode itself was light and fun, with nothing particularly bad or particularly great. Very middle of the road for this show, with some cute and clever moments but nothing that knocks your socks off.

(But the Spectre opening bit with the criminal turned into a block of cheese was a great little short that really sets the tone for that character. It was a surprisingly horrifying turn on what's nominally a kids' show.)
