Billions: Season 7

7x12 Admirals Fund

They gave us a happy ending, which I wasn’t sure I wanted before but I ultimately found very satisfying.

Holy Shit, the best series ending ever, these writers will never run out of work.

No kiss between Wendy and Bobby, would have loved closure on that. The governer being a plant was expected, but Sacker, yeah surprising. Liked it enough, but the closure part not so cool.

The series peaked in the first few seasons. After that it was a gradual fall in plot and dialogue. Although in the earlier seasons too, the writing was quite bombastic, filled with more than necessary sports/movie references, the scheming between the two protagonists was realistic and elaborate. The show could've had a finale like Succession - unpredictable but grounded and humbling. Billions finale was predictable and thus, less memorable.

Really surprised, and somewhat confused, by the positive reviews of this episode. It was actually pretty bad. Predictable plot line, poor dialogue, and far too many endings. The show used to be great, but each season was a drop in quality from what went before, and this episode was the worst episode of the worst season. Such a shame they couldn't come up with something more creative to end the show.

Wow, some ending.
although I'm not sure how happy it was. I'm not that sure that Prince was that evil that had to be stopped so badly, especially looking as who might be his opponents (Trump and friends), they destroyed a betrayed him completely by abusing power and all the while exploiting a huge inside information trading illegal knowledge to hugely benefit from that. So painting them as "The good guys" isn't very correct. Maybe better at being worst.

Excellent finish to the series, I'm grinning. The writers did an excellent job wrapping this up.

I actually cried knowing this would be the last episode…it actually taught me something…that life must go on…with or without…Damian Lewis is officially my 3rd favorite actor…after Denzel Washington and Leonardo DiCaprio…I’m also glad I actually predicted his last words…”Let’s Make Some F:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:ing Money!!!!”… LOVE YOU AXE.

The best ending I could have possibly wanted. I am satisfied with this episode and series overall! I loved every second of it!

He went to meet the President and I bet he still was without a tie… I know it’s petty but really?

What a superb ending to one of my favourite shows of all time, I am really going to miss this, all the character dynamics etc. It had a lull in the last series but this was an amazing season. Thank you!

A decent finale for the show. Season 7 was an improvement from the dreadful S6, but still not that great overall. I'd say the show lost its footing during S5 (even before the COVID break, which certainly didn't help) and never truly recovered. Axe returning for these last few episodes really highlighted that the show sorely missed his presence.

My overall season ranking: S3 > S1 > S2 > S4 >>> S7 > S5 >>>>> S6.
(Honestly, the first half of S7 would be below S5 because it was fairly mediocre (and gets extra demerits for baiting us with Axe but not having him on the show fully yet), but the last few episodes and this finale were decent enough to put 7 above 5.)
