I miss this show so much, such and incredible storyline and the acting is perfect, im sad and happy that it ended, sad because its over but also happy for it to end because dragging tv series out csn normally ruin it.
I found about this show a long time ago, when I got a book that summarizes the account of the history of piracy in Venezuela, aswell as the main pirates that sailed around the country and some insight on the pirate life. Since then, I've been on a roll about piracy, and no matter what, I've always circled back to this show.
I ignored it at first, thinking it was just one of those History documentaries with theatrical scenes. I don't hate them; I don't have anything against those, I just thought that's what it was. To my surprise, it took me months to finally check what it was all about, only to find myself on a prequel to Treasure Island, one of my favorite books since I was a kid.
It might not be Robert L. Stevenson, but it's truly a love letter to his book. It's worth a watch, specially if you read the book as a teenager, and now that you've grown, you're considering to go back to it and find something much darker.
A sexist, rascist show, with terrible acting, equally bad music, not to mention the sets that look like the pages of bad decoration magazines ... no imagination, no interest. Pirates truly deserve better than that. Run away !

The best show about pirates ever! Really good mix of facts and fiction, some great action scenes, filthy pirate language and filthy pirate sex, what more could a pirate want!
Absolutely my favourite TV show! Great acting, amazing story and superb locations.
It start slow but after mid season one you develop an addiction.

Really sad to have finally finished this show. Got off to a bit of a shaky start, wasn't sure if any of the characters had any depth. But man did it have me after the first episode of the second season.

If I had to name my absolute favourite series ever, it would be Black Sails.
This series has it all: outstanding writing, morally grey and complex characters brought to life by an incredible cast, beautifully written relationships, amazing cinematography, costumes and set designs. And a story that will eat your soul.
If I could only watch one show for the rest of my life, it would be Black Sails.

I just up-rated this show. Just because I miss it so damn much...
Last season was just perfect. the art in that photography and cinematics, the lights, the story..the actors..was orgasmic.
The show starts off a bit slow and confusing but by the end of season 1 it becomes so much better and from there to the subsequent seasons it keeps improving. Definitely recommend the show. Can't wait for season 4!

Slow start but the final 2 episodes of the first season have been fucking incredible. Hopefully the show will stay at that quality for season 2. 8/10 so far, great show.

Given what this show is about it shouldve hooked me but I couldn't get into it.
I wish I would’ve stopped watching after season 2. So many decisions that don’t make any sense starting in season 3.

Something that finally does justice to the 'pirate story' - there is some factual with a lot of fiction but overall a great story line - complex and human.

Just finished the 3rd season; good show; great characters, even shed a tear or two when Capt. Vane met his?????? Not going to spoil that in case no one has seen the show up to season 3...Season 4 2017 oh my!!! #ShiftvW8

I just watched the first season, I didn't really start enjoying it until the last few episodes.. Hope season two will be good.
I am not really into it. Something is really missing, just can't name it. Sometimes I have the feeling, that the show doesnt know where it will go too. There is not one plot which is hooking and thrilling me. Maybe they get a straight line through the story in the next season... But at the moment it seems more like a "documentation" about the village than a pirate story.
I enjoyed this first season. The bad part for me is that it seems Crossbones is following the same storyline

Wasn't really sure what I was getting involved in when I started watching this show 4 years ago.
4 years later and after watching the series finale I sit down to write that this show quickly became one of my favorites. The writing and cinematography are top notch and nearly unrivaled with the rest of the television these days. Just when I thought the show couldn't get better it surprised me and always did.
I'm sad it's over but I am happy I was able to experience this near flawless piece of entertainment.
