Being a traditional coming-of-age, it knows how to deploy fun experiences and explores racial themes without completely losing its status as an entertaining youth comedy. But it gives the impression that, in the field of representation of racial communities, the series has nothing new to say, constructing recognizable situations because they are conventional, perhaps because it needs more time to develop the characters, or because it prefers to stay in a middle ground that in the end does not take her anywhere particularly exciting.
